Social Media Specialist Job Posting

Kairos Consumers is a global consumer research and consulting company based in Chicago, IL. Currently, Kairos Consumers is recruiting qualified social media specialists worldwide. Kairos Consumers is working only on adhoc (rather than syndicated) projects, therefore the positions are for a contract basis only. Reporting to one of our regional managers, a social media specialist would be involved in various (or all) stages of the research process, which might vary considerably from one project to another. The ideal candidate will understand how to combine statistical data and web analytics with more qualitative consumer and brand tracking.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Complete research objectives as communicated by project manager
  • Evaluate the social media landscape to assess which approaches in the social media discipline are applicable for a specific company/brand
  • Compile relevant social media trends (across platforms) that may directly or indirectly impact the objectives of a specific company or brand
  • Develop social media strategy and context relevant to specific target audiences/segments
  • Quantify the implications of social media campaigns as relevant to certain audiences/segments

Qualifications must include:.

  • Fluent written and spoken English as well as fluency in the local national language
  • Availability to work 20 – 40 hours per week depending on the project
  • Fluency in social media: ability to identify keywords and influencers + knowledge of how communities work
  • Experience in researching, writing, editing, and curating content for a variety of audiences that span demographics
  • Capability of working both independently and across multiple teams in order accomplish goals and fulfill success metrics
  • Experience in at least some of these programs/software types: HTML, AdPlanner, AdWords, Alexa, Webtrends, social media monitoring software including Nielsen BuzzMetrics and Radian6
  • Ability to quantify - or provide a suggested methodology for - ROI of social media campaigns
  • Marketing, media, PR or advertising experience is a must
  • PC or laptop ownership and access to high speed Internet (ideally at home) plus Skype account
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work from home
  • Strong work ethic: Adherence to strict deadlines is necessaryÂ…deadlines can not be changed
  • Strong attention to detail

Other skills of value include:

  • Previous international experience
  • Quantitative or qualitative market research or consumer research experience

The time commitments vary significantly from one project to another i.e. from one (1) day to over four (4) weeks. Contract analysts will be paid within 30 days of work completion, ideally via PayPal.

Note: For U.S.-based contract analysts, be aware that you will have to complete a W8 or W9 form and may then receive a 1099 for IRS purposes at the end of the year.
